Collection Maintenance & Discussion

  • 9:00 AM - 12:00 PM
  • Pettys Orchard

General maintenance & planning for summer. We are part-way through placing barrier mesh around our young apple trees and hope to finish this job and adjust nets at this working bee. Then plan how our plum collection can be arranged. Trees are just beginning to flower and the orchard looks beautiful.

We always discuss plans for the orchard - what and when to plant, and how we can improve protection and condition of our trees - & we encourage new input.

Wednesday working bees are normally the first and third Wednesdays. Please register so you receive an email the Monday before - occasionally we cancel if there is little to do or the weather is lousy. Cancelled on days of total fire-ban in the Central District.

This is a free event. You do not need to book and no experience is necessary, but we do ask that you email the first time to let us know you are coming.

Coffee, tea and refreshments are provided.

Wear sturdy boots and clothing, as well as a hat and sunscreen as we are often examining trees.

Address: Cnr Homestead & Monckton Rds, Templestowe, 3106 Victoria, Australia.
