General maintenance. We will be mapping out the area for planting apricot specimen trees on Sunday 1 September. Also building 'baths' in the nursery to store pots in over the summer. Probably grafting some apples for next year's sales.
We always discuss plans for the orchard - what and when to plant, and how we can improve protection and condition of our trees - & we encourage new input.
Wednesday working bees are normally the first and third Wednesdays. Please register so you receive an email the Monday before - occasionally we cancel if there is little to do or the weather is lousy. Cancelled on days of total fire-ban in the Central District.
This is a free event. You do not need to book and no experience is necessary, but we do ask that you email fsurr@tpg.com.au to let us know you are coming. Coffee, tea and refreshments are provided. Wear sturdy boots and clothing, as well as a hat and sunscreen as we are often examining trees.
